Delivery Days and Lead Times on Products

Orderspace supports setting specific delivery days and lead times on each product. This is an advanced feature that can be enabled from Settings > Optional Features on the admin site.

This feature is designed for products that are made on specific days or require a minimum amount of time to produce, for example, baked goods.

Once enabled, products will have two additional fields: Lead Time and Delivery Days. These affect the Delivery Date that can be selected at checkout.

Lead Time represents the number of days ahead that the item must be ordered. If left blank, the lead time is disabled.

Delivery Days represents the days of the week that the product can be ordered.

Where products have different lead times and delivery days, these will be combined at checkout, so that only the appropriate dates can be selected to satisfy all the products on the order.

The Lead Time and Delivery Days can be set on each product through the admin site or in bulk with a product import.

On the Admin Site

The Lead Time and Delivery Days can be set from the Details tab when editing each product.

Bulk Import

The Lead Time and Delivery Days columns on a product import can be used to update the products in bulk. With the feature enabled, these columns are also present on a product export which can be used as a template for an import.

The Lead Time column should contain the number of days required, or be left blank for no lead time.

The Delivery Days column should contain a list of days separated by spaces, e.g. "Monday Tuesday Wednesday", or be left blank for no restriction.

On the Ordering Site

Once set up, the Lead Time and Delivery Days will show on the ordering site in the pop-up when an item is selected for ordering.

Valid delivery dates will be shown on the date picker at checkout, and invalid dates will be automatically disabled.
