Shopify Integration Setup

This document describes how to set up the integration between Orderspace and Shopify. This involves creating a custom app in Shopify and connecting to it from Orderspace.

The set up should take between five and ten minutes.

To get started, go to your Shopify admin site and select Settings in the bottom-left corner of the page, then Apps from the menu on the left-hand side.

Select Develop apps.

Select Build apps in Dev Dashboard

This will open the Shopify dev dashboard in a new tab.

Select Create app.

Enter "Orderspace integration" for the App name. Select Create.

Once the app has been created, fill out the App URL with "https://www.orderspace.com"

Untick Embed app in Shopify admin.

Under Access, copy and paste the following into Scopes:

read_inventory, write_inventory, read_locations, read_orders, write_orders, read_products, write_products

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Release.

In the Release this new version? popup, leave Version name and Version message blank, and tap on Release.

After a few moments, you will be returned to something that looks similar to the following:

Select Settings from the menu on the left.

Note the values displayed for Client ID and Secret, they will be needed shortly.

Select Home from the menu on the left, then tap on Select distribution method under Distribution on the right-hand side.

This will open the Shopify partner dashboard in a new tab.

From there, select Custom distribution and tap on the Select button.

Confirm by tapping on the Select custom distribution button.

Enter your Shopify Store domain.

Untick Allow multi-store install for one Plus organization.

Select Generate link.

On the next page, under Install link, select Copy. This will copy the app install link to your clipboard.

Open a new page in your web browser and paste the link into the browser. This will take you to a page on your Shopify admin site.

Select Install. This will install the app and redirect you to www.orderspace.com

To complete the installation, go to your Orderspace admin site, and under Integrations, select Shopify.

Select Enable Integration.

Enter your Shopify Store Name, and the Client ID and Secret that you obtained earlier, then select Activate.

The Store Name can be found in the URL of your Shopify admin site. For example, if the URL is shoptest.myshopify.com or admin.shopify.com/shop/shoptest, the store name is shoptest.
